The Pullers

“Pullers” travelled the world on behalf of the gang to extract the profits of their Mexican skimming scheme. Using cloned cards, they would visit ATMs as far away as Indonesia and Taiwan to withdraw money from victims’ bank accounts. To avoid detection, the pullers would take out only small amounts at a time. Alisa Sardaru, 29, and her partner Sorin Velcu, 35, both from Craiova, Romania, were two of the gang’s many pullers. In March 2019, they and two others were arrested and jailed in Bali, Indonesia, for carrying cards cloned from victims in ten different countries across Europe and North America.
