M-LVIA has been photographed aboard Abramovich’s yacht, the Eclipse, but the helicopter has a complex ownership structure that makes it difficult to trace.

It is owned by the Isle of Man-registered company Flambards Limited, whose shares are owned by another company registered in the British Virgin Islands, Wotton Overseas Holdings Limited. (This company has since been re-registered in Jersey, an island in the English Channel.) Abramovich declared Wotton Overseas Holdings to be one of his assets in 2011, when he was running in local elections in Russia.

Flambards Limited took loans from Leiston Holdings, a company whose links to Abramovich were revealed by BBC Panorama as part of the FinCEN Files investigation.

The helicopter was registered in the Isle of Man until March 28, 2022, about two weeks after Abramovich was sanctioned by the U.K. It is unclear where it is now registered.
