Cristian Simion, 44, is a Romanian radio transmission technician. In 2014 he accepted a job in Mexico, not realizing that he would be working for the Riviera Maya gang installing skimming devices and software in their rigged ATMs. In 2017 he told the gang he wanted out, but his attempt to leave was not well received, and he was beaten up multiple times. Simion managed to escape to Romania, but the gang tracked down his family and threatened him several times. He went into hiding and became a witness against Tudor.
